Well. Beautiful weather for Sydney for another six days apparently. At last! Now if only I can get some writing time in. Talking about giving birth. Bringing a book into the world surely is a painful task. Sitting for hours straight drinking coffee until I find myself grinding teeth, tapping away at a cold keyboard for hours on end, or just staring at it when my muse has decided to call time often makes this writer want to be somewhere else. Then there’s the tedious endless nature of proof reading.
But all of the labor is definitely worth it when the baby starts kicking. Those little you get once the characters have become more or less fully developed and you just know what they are going to do and say. Yes, well after nailing down the themes and plot, more or less. Getting a great cover from the designer is a definite kick. A kick that tells you the baby is healthy. And then the day arrives when the book comes out into the world. And there it is for everyone to see. That’s where my analogy ends though. Because a book is nothing compared to a baby. Congratulations Lorena and Ben! and HELLO, Arlo!!
